Debbie's inheritance seems like the answer to her prayers. She has independence from her mother and her formerly pretty bleak life. Is it too good to be true?

Steve grew up in Greggor House unofficially adopted by Debbie's great-aunt. He claims that he never wanted the house or any of the wealth, but how can he explain his pursuit of Debbie?

Greggor House is cursed, or so it seems. The last owner was almost certainly murdered and it has a long history of drama and tragedy. Debbie Greggor is determined to turn this history and her life around now that she has inherited the house of her dreams, but only time will tell if she will survive to enjoy it. Which of the house's employees is the killer?

Debbie is a very well written character; she is spunky, brave, and sympathetic. Steve is a much more mysterious character as are the other house employees. The history of the house comes out very slowly in the story, the author giving us little bits at a time. Let us just say the Greggors are a very dysfunctional family. The author does not give away many clues as to who the murderer is and the ghost angle is very interesting. Debbie's love life is not very convincing. She really does not seem to have any deep feelings other than fear in this story. For someone who supposedly had to grow up quickly she acts very childishly at times. The climax of the novel and solution of the murder are very exciting, making this an enjoyable mystery.
