Jenny Barnes has been on the run from her abusive and psychotic stepfather for years. He has had a sick sexual obsession with her since she was twelve and is jealous of her relationship with his son, and his son’s best friend. Not wanting to put them in danger, she goes into hiding.

Jake and his lover Cree have always loved Jenny. Thinking it will make things easier for Jenny since it appears that Jake’s father does not want them around, they stay away long enough to build a home for her once she comes of age.

When Jake and Cree get a call from a hospital, they feel very guilty. Each realizes they should not have left Jenny with Jake’s stepfather. Racing to her side, they find their beautiful Jenny horribly bruised, beaten, branded and in a coma. Desperate to protect her and to finally bring her to the house they built for her, they call in their SEAL buddies to help. As the pair does their best to heal Jenny’s emotional wounds they fall even more deeply in love with her, but will they be able to keep her safe?

Beautifully sensual, Branded by Gold is a tale of true love. Jake and Cree, who are also in love with each other, have no problem including Jenny. The love between the three is a pleasure to read about. Ms. Lynne tells Jenny’s story with compassion and understanding. The author does a great job of showing how Jake and Cree help Jenny through the pain of her experiences. The author’s explanation of Jenny’s background is realistic. While parts of this book are violent, I felt it was justified by the story Ms. Lynne was telling. I am eagerly awaiting the next book by this author!
