Kira, half fae and half human, fits in nowhere. She is feared by both sides and loved by none, even though she has dedicated her life to healing.

Rowan is the last Dragon Lord of Kells. He has no heir and as yet has not been able to access his dragon powers. He will need them to fight his evil half brother, Harper.

To safeguard his inheritance and his people, Rowan must defeat his evil half brother. That man has a sorcerer on his side, but Rowan has his dragon, if he can only find him. Kira’s destiny has always been to protect the Dragon Lord, but she never dreamed of marrying him.

This is a well-written and entertaining fantasy tale. Kira is a strong character who suffers much without feeling sorry for herself. That seems to be Rowan’s area, but he pulls himself together for the sake of his family and his people. Harper and his sidekick Griffin are unrelentingly evil, but the sorcerer has a soft spot in his daughter Aeryn. I found the shape shifting Angus an interesting character. I was confused a little in the beginning of the story. Kira’s parents disappeared with no explanation; her familial connections are not clear through most of the book. The plot is full of action, excitement, magick, and a really good love story. Fans of this genre will definitely not be disappointed.
