Julianna Chevalair has been warned to stop writing the story. When the threats extend from the office, to her home, the only place she can hide out is at her ex-father-in-law’s ranch. She accepts Abe’s invitation but having her ex-husband around complicates matters.

Luke Coltrane returns to Santa Fe to help his dad mend fences, as least until his current police investigation cools down a bit. Julianna’s unexplained arrival has him curious. He intends to find out the real reason she has returned to the ranch.

Abe, the loving father of Luke, is Julianna’s confidant. Abe wishes that Luke and Julianne could see past their differences and work out a solution to get back together with no more missed opportunities.

Julianna eagerly accepts Abe’s invitation to stay at the ranch until matters calm down. The emails and phone messages tell her to stop writing the article, even though a second installment will be in the Achilles’ Heel. She thought it would only be her and Abe at the ranch but Luke arrives unexpectedly. Luke seeks answers from Julianna as to her visit but her answers are vague until his constant digging prompts her to tell him the truth. He inquires about the magazine articles as well as hear her threats, and as a cop, he refuses to take no for an answer. Julianna cannot forget the love they once shared, the good times, and then the bad ones that seem to transcend to her memory; the loss of their son, Michael, Luke’s drinking, his work load, not to mention the time they just drifted apart that led them to break up. Luke feels he failed in their marriage, but he still carries a love for her that is hard to forget. When the danger draws closer to the ranch, Luke has to protect Julianna. Time is running out for Julianna who hopes that Luke can stop the culprit. She has fallen more in love with Luke, and this time she wishes that true happiness that they should never have run away from years before.

Husband and Wife Reunion is a top-notch book that keeps the reader engaged from the first page. The tension is evident throughout the story and not just with the threats. Julianna and Luke spin some great dialogue in the pages, not to mention the exhilarating emotions they share. I cheered them on all the way through the book. Ms. Style creates a sharp, tight read that does not let go until the last page, and then after that, the characters still stay in the head. The way Julianna spoke of the grief and the therapy was so real, so in-depth. Just imagining her fright when she received the threats was absolutely spellbinding. Ms. Style incorporates a great plot and a well-written story that is extraordinary in every way and deserves a 5 cups.
