Cynthia Landon is running home to Fallon’s Landing and her mother. Her ex lost all of her money and her business; now all she has is an ancient boat of a car and a terrific son. She has sworn off men, but who should rescue Cynthia and Lawrence from a ditch full of water but the local bad boy, Quaid O’Fallon.

Quaid has come home to help his adopted father with his baby sister while Rory’s fiancée is on the run. He always had a crush on Cynthia, but he was younger and she was snobbish. He is still younger, but life has changed Cynthia for the better.

The town’s bad boy and its former princess meet again and fall in love amongst family intrigue and new beginnings in Fallon’s Landing, Tennessee. A missing fiancée, a foundling baby, and the sudden reappearance of an ex-fiancée add to the excitement and confusion of budding romances and renewed friendships.

This is one of the most entertaining romances that I have read lately. The setting is wonderful and the characters very colorful; from the ghost of General Grant causing car accidents to the very sexy nuns, Sister Candy and Sister Ginger of the halter tops and short shorts. The O’Fallons are one and all very appealing, especially Quaid. Cynthia did a lot of growing up in the time she spent in New York. I loved Sally and Ida and Preston, the would-be private investigator who wants to be Magnum PI. I found myself laughing out loud more than once and cannot wait to read the rest of this series.
