Rosalie Hopkins wants to hide her emotions. After being jilted at the altar, she needs to understand why. There are no answers and no closure. When she receives a mysterious phone call that could be from her ex-fiancé, she needs answers.

Tavon Williams was investigating Kyle Clayton when he first caught a glimpse of Rosalie. She was the first woman in a long time that opened up hormones inside him. After Kyle turns up missing, Tavon searches for his whereabouts.

Trying to wipe away any thoughts of Kyle, Rosalie takes a job at the local airport ticket office. At least she would have a paycheck and perhaps she could finally move on. She wonders about Kyle’s whereabouts after receiving a letter saying it was over, to go on without him. Tavon is aware Kyle was a cheater and Rosalie could do better. After Rosalie receives a phone call, with Kyle’s number showing on her caller ID, her curiosity is piqued. She turns to Tavon only to end up forming a strong alliance that turns into something more. Neither expected where the outcome would lead, nor the danger facing them.

Phone Call From the Dead had this reader engrossed immediately. There were so many times I wanted to comfort Rosalie. I found it encouraging the way she pulls herself up and strives to build a better life for herself, even while she is going through a hurtful ordeal. Tavon is compassionate and caring and this reader instantly liked him from the start. He has a tender side to him that really shines in this story. Ericka Scott does a magnificent job in sketching out the jilted bride-to-be, and leaving that bit of doubt along the way to make this a wonderful read in learning one can really start over.
