Katie is a widow in her forties. She and her late husband loved the rose garden that he planted, but now it is a mess. She hires a man to return the garden to beauty and begins to live again.

Patrick is a very talented gardener who has been made redundant at his previous job. He really enjoys working for the lovely lady at Priory Farm.

Katie’s children have decided that she has mourned their father long enough. They decide that she should start dating again. Katie enjoys all the attention and is ready to live and love again, but things do not always go as planned.

This is a very nice story, but very slow to start. Stick with it because the plot gets more and more interesting as things go on. The characters are very well written and the reader will feel that they know each and every one of them. The little twists and turns in the story make it all the more interesting. I just loved Katie and Patrick and Katie’s daughters and aunt are wonderful characters. Her suitors are quite a cast of characters as well and I really enjoyed reading about all of them.
