Callie Cummings still thinks of the ranch as home, even though she lives in New York where she works as an event planner. She is determined to turn the slightly run down dude ranch into an up-to-date spa and resort.

Deck O’Neill is the ranch foreman and was once in love with Callie. He could not make her stay at the ranch. He is also an artist, but has not sold any of his work.

Callie is back at the family’s ranch, which has fallen on hard times. It will be a challenge to make the place profitable again, especially since someone wants the property and is determined that she not succeed. Deck is also still at the ranch and as handsome and irresistible to Callie as ever. She does not know how she will be able to leave him again; he hopes she will not have to go.

This is an entertaining and quick read. The two main characters have some sizzling chemistry between them. The love scenes are well done and sensual. The plot itself is loaded with suspense and action and a very devious villain. I enjoyed both the love story and the author’s gift for describing complicated feelings and relationships. This is a very good story that fans of contemporary romance are definitely going to enjoy.
