Alex Scott is doing a study of mountain lions in the Colorado wilderness. A former Boston socialite and Miss USA, Alex left it all behind, including a fiancé, when she realized the life she was leading was not the one she truly wanted. She has found peace in Colorado but it is about to be interrupted. When a gorgeous man literally falls out of a plane and practically lands in her lap, everything changes.

Tag Donovan is an FBI agent trying to get the mobster who killed his partner. In order to do so he has had to make friends with some pretty unscrupulous people, including the man he is now working for undercover. When said man pushes him out of his plane and nearly on top of Alex, he thinks he may have died and gone to heaven. However, Alex appears to want no part of him, or does she?

When someone burns down Alex’s cabin, all bets are off, and even though strong attraction flares between Alex and Tag, neither is really willing to trust the other. Tag tells Alex that he is there to find treasure called the Lost Spaniard. Alex nearly laughs him out of the room since the entire town of Casteel and treasure hunters from all over have been looking for it for over a hundred years. The treasure is believed to be a myth. But word spreads fast and suddenly mercenaries, and other assorted dangerous individuals, show up on the scene. It becomes apparent very quickly when Alex is threatened that she is going to have to find a way to play this game if she wants to stay alive. She teams up with Tag as she considers him the lesser of the other evils haunting her town in search of the treasure. Will these two learn to trust each other? Will they be able to stay ahead of the bad guys?

Tag, You’re It is the next book in Penny McCall’s FBI series, and boy is it good! Alex as the burned socialite who would rather watch mountain lions than deal with men is hilarious. Her damn the torpedoes attitude makes this book a keeper. Tag, whose name is quite ingenious, considering he really is “it”, is endearing as the guy who is doing his best not to think with his gonads or wind up dead, it being a toss-up as to which might happen first. And both of which are pretty hard to do with blonde bombshell Alex around. The sex when it happens is hotter than anything either of them have experienced, and reading about how they each have to deal with the love they have for each other definitely has its funny moments. The descriptions of Colorado, and the colorful town of Casteel are very engaging and lend much to the overall fun times to be had while reading this book. Ms. McCall has done it again, and I for one cannot wait for the next installment!
