Lady Elsbeth Mercer was finally out of her widow’s weeds and back into gowns with color. On an outing where she was chaperoning her two younger cousins’, poor Elsbeth was in for a shock. There in the Gallery hung a painting of her in the nude.

Lord Nigel Edgeware was determined to help Lady Mercer with her tarnished reputation. He knew the man who painted her nude, and he also know she had nothing to do with that painting. Nigel had one other order of business to attend to these days, figuring out who was trying to murder him.

Nigel decides to have a house party, to help Elsbeth regain some of her good reputation and also to try and discover who has it out for him. It does not take long before he and Elsbeth both are in the midst of a true mystery. But when the murderer starts to take bigger chances, things become very dangerous for both Nigel and Elsbeth. Will they be able to unravel the mystery, before it is too late?

The story of The Nude is a wonderful blend of romance, second chances, mystery and murder. This story will keep you guessing. There is a nice mix of characters that helps add to the overall story. The characters are well written, and the story line flows really well. Once you start reading this story, it will keep you entertained all the way to the very end.
