Leah has suffered a horrific childhood but is now safe in her relationship with her husband Kaden. It might not be the typical Ozzie and Harriet type of marriage, but it is what they both need.

Kaden has just found out that he is dying. He is not happy but his first thought is for his wife and sub Leah. She needs someone to take care of her and protect her.

Seth is remaking himself. He has divorced his third wife and is going to nursing school. Life is hard but the future is bright.

When Kaden finds out that he is dying of pancreatic cancer, he has to find someone to take care of his wife Leah. She is more than his wife, she is his slave and he needs someone he can trust to take care of her in the way she needs and most importantly to love her. His best friend Seth is his first choice if he can overcome Seth’s reservations about the BDSM lifestyle. Seth is already more than a little in love with Leah and will do anything for Kaden.

This is not your typical BDSM story. The author has done some pretty intensive research into the lifestyle and the result is a story that is not merely titillating but an in depth view of the lifestyle. The story is by turns emotional and sensual and the characters very well drawn. Leah is a strong person despite her role in the couple and the author does a good job of showing this. This is a book that I would recommend anyone to read before jumping into this genre. I understand things now that I found confusing in the past.
