Virginia Broadwell is about to re-marry at the age of sixty-five. One thing she does not like is to be riled, because once that happens, she can become quite dangerous.

Nita Broadwell is Virginia’s ex-daughter-in-law. She is certain Virginia seeks revenge against her for divorcing her son, Charles.

Virginia’s late husband, and her son, Charles, know her rage. As she prepares to marry Redmon, she will let him get settled in before she applies her whip. He insists she sell her house to settle all her debts, as well as sign a prenuptial agreement. Of course, if the tables were reversed, she would do the same. Her son, Charles, is divorced from Nita, and is remarrying next week. Virginia thinks Charles should have made the divorce harder on Nita. He is a good attorney and could have taken her for every penny for running off with some handsome carpenter. She is certain Nita’s conniving friends, had something to do with Charles not opposing the divorce. The moment Nita even ran off with the carpenter made the Broadwell’s a laughing stock in the town. Virginia knows vengeance belongs to the Lord, but Virginia never liked for others to take her responsibilities, and when she is finished, she plans on making sure Nita loses everything.

I have to say I really loved this charismatic story. I adored the southern charm and everything about it. The women, and the town of Ithaca, Georgia and their lives kept me entertained. The plot with the revenge, and the tactics used made the story even more fascinating. I could almost feel the icy coldness drip off Virginia as she plotted her little moments. Cathy Holton brings out a revenge filled with wit that this reader thoroughly enjoyed. Irresistibly breathtaking, packed with great southern charisma and well-rounded characters, she weaves a story that should not be missed in this Georgia town.
