Maggie Wellington has run as far away as she can from her overbearing father and his plans. Her new life in Alaska will be an adventure and a chance for a new life.

Jack Montgomery has lived in Kodiak for several years. Since the death of his wife he has just been going through the motions in life and not really living it. Maggie is a breath of fresh air that he is not sure he can handle.

A young woman determined to live life to the fullest and a dedicated doctor hiding from life clash in a remote Alaskan town and fall in love.

Maggie is a wonderful character. Raised by an overbearing father, she still has the courage to try to start over in virtually another world. Jack is hiding from the emotions that he literally buried with his wife. Even his mother in law, Ellie sees that Maggie is just who he needs. However, he is too stubborn at first to see it and then too scared to act on it, but his changes are half the fun of the story. The author has really captured the beauty and people of Alaska and has written a romance that you will not want to put down. The excitement of a remote clinic adds so much to the story.
