Katla Jonsdottir was raised by her grandmother Amma, who is now in a resting home with dementia. Sometimes she knows Kat and other times she is in her own world. But for a while whenever she has told Kat about her ancestors, she also says when HE comes Katla must go back with him. Kat had no idea what her grandmother Amma is talking about until the day she met Leif Nabboddrson, the Viking.
When Leif realizes he has been betrayed by his betrothed Katla, he is furious. His men are being killed all around him, when his locket starts to grow warm and shine, his attackers are sure it is witchery and kill him. Or so Leif thinks. He awakens on a shore in a different time with Katla bending over him.
When Leif realizes that Katla is the descendent of the one who betrayed him, he tries very hard to understand the world around him. Leif sees Amma and realizes she is the voice that spoke to him. As Leif and Katla search for a way to get Leif back to his time, Amma’s words keep going through Katla's mind about going back with him. Leif knows if Katla goes back it will be the end of her life and the life of her ancestors. By now, Leif is sure Katla is his true mate but can he go back in time without her? If he takes her with him, she would surely die. Is there no way for Katla and Leif to be together?
Absolutely Wonderful. With a Sandra Hill flair, Ms. Dee has created a phenomenal time traveling romance. Exceptionally written, this romance carries a Viking from his time to modern day, with ease. Fascinating characters with colorful secondary characters will make you laugh and cry as the story starts to unfold. Witty dialogue and steamy sexual tension are all woven in making this one extraordinary tale.
