Jacinda Barrett remembers everything about her one Vegas weekend with Gideon. The heated memory is hard to erase from her thoughts, especially when she wishes her former life to stay private.

Gideon Nash is in town to retrieve an emerald, and then he will be off to his next big adventure. Running into Jacinda again was an added plus. He finds her honest, determined, smart and gutsy, not to mention downright sexy.

Jacinda remembers Gideon when she worked in a Vegas Club earning extra money for college. Now as an assistant curator, with an upcoming auction, she wants her past to stay buried. Gideon sends electric sparks through her body and as pleased as she is to see him again, she is surprised when he insists to see the emerald. He could at least wait until the day of the auction. Unknown to her, Gideon has reason to see the Veros family emerald. It belonged to his grandmother. Jacinda realizes this makes him wealthy and privileged, from a prominent family. Their on-again sensual heat almost drips off their bodies when they are near but the new developments make Jacinda rethink some things. Their temptation grows stronger, as Jacinda tries fighting the Gideonitis spell. After the emerald disappears, Jacinda wonders will her past secrets be revealed once all the dust settles or will she find real love in the arms of Gideon?

What Happened in Vegas is a delightful read. I enjoyed the refreshing characters of Jacinda and Gideon and how they try to sort out their feelings for the other. I could tell they wanted to be together but their little pushing away of each other has a way of making them only want each other more, increasing their heated desire. Wendy Etherington does a great job in structuring a story that keeps sensual passion as well as a bit of mystery revolving within the characters. I thought the plot was well crafted and look forward to more of her books.
