Alayna Taylor has it all: a loving husband with a rising career, two beautiful children, and a wonderful home. All that is ripped from her grasp when her husband, away on business, is killed in a car accident. Overnight Alayna has to find the strength to carry on for the sake of her boys and must become the sole supporter of her family. That leaves little time to grieve for her loss.

Yet, she is lucky with a wonderful support system in her friends, family, and her children’s pediatrician. Perhaps Dr. Adam Bryant is a little more supportive than any other pediatrician might be, but Alayna does not mind. Dr. Bryant is incredibly sexy, and truth be told, she has had a crush on him for quite a while. In a moment of reckless abandon, Alayna opens the door to a possible relationship with Adam. It is a door which the good doctor does not hesitate to walk through.

Though it seems like they are headed for happily-ever-after, Alayna is still grieving. Their budding relationship faces other challenges, as well. She is unable to let things with Adam progress too quickly for her children’s sake, and then there is the painful, unexpected blow that her loving, caring husband was having an affair before his death. There is so much to which Alayna must adjust, but with Adam’s unwavering dedication, she has all the opportunity in the world of pulling through and moving on. It is up to her to decide whether or not she wants to.

I had trouble finding the story in All of You. Almost from the beginning, the novel portrays a happy relationship with plenty of physical intimacy, but there is not much else. There are segments which might have been developed into conflict and tension. Instead they were rushed through and too quickly resolved. Everyone was too willing, too supportive, too understanding. In the end, it felt like one, long happily-ever-after. The subject matter, though, was interesting, and the intersecting relationships between the main character, her children, and her new lover were sweet.
