Sammie Carpenter wants to find her softer side. As an army captain, she is often seen as hardcore. Playing the role of a saloon girl, she may get her wish.

James ‘Jimmy’ Johnson is a good faithful Christian. He would like to find a woman who understands his values in life to share his life with.

Sammie was all she could be in the army, but it was her personal life that needed a facelift. Playing the role of a saloon girl, in Tombstone, she hopes will bring out her sexier side. If she can find something outside the military life, she believes she will feel better about herself. Sammie never thought an old friend would enter her life. Jimmy knew once he set sight on the lovely saloon girl, she was the one. He recalls a girl he once knew, but her name was not Lonesome Lilly. The girl he knew was named Sammie. He always wondered what happened to her. As a Christian counselor, he wants someone who will love the Lord like him. When he learns who Lonesome Lilly really is, will they finally find what they have been searching for in their lives?

I believe what I enjoyed most about First Impressions was how Jimmy and Sammie both thought they really were not good enough for anyone. Where people looked at beauty on the outside, this couple was positively both beautiful inside and out. Michelle Sutton creates a story that gives the reader thought about a good many things. She allows the reader to see the positive that life has to offer with characters that spring to life in the pages. I adore her style of storytelling, and always look forward to her next refreshing book. The emotions she gives her players are truly genuine.
