In a place like New York, image can make or break anyone, which Haven Hoyt banks on. As an image consultant, it is her job to turn a toad into a prince. Or at least help him look like one.

The music industry is a dog eat dog world; one that chewed up Mark Webster and spit him out years ago. Now his days are spent playing blues clubs and the occasional wedding, which is a far cry from his pop-star glory days, and unfortunately, so is the pay.

Long hair, scraggly beard, and clothes that look like they were dug out of the nearest dumpster lets Haven know she definitely has her work cut out for her. What she finds beneath the scruffy exterior; however, is far more than she is ready for. Mark needs this comeback tour to help his ailing father, and being around Haven is also opening his eyes to how much he has been wasting his life. From head to toe she is pure class, but what he cannot seem to resist are the little glimpses he gets of the sexy hot mess underneath all that polish.

For a woman who spends an inordinate amount of time making sure every hair is in place and every outfit impeccable, Haven is a wonderful surprise. She tries so hard to be perfect, which makes the story even more fun to read as Mark unravels her tidy little world. Everyone needs that one person they can be honest with, inside and out, and Mark wants to be that person for Haven. I love how hard Haven tries to maintain her poise, and even more when she completely loses it to Mark.
