Rachel is a petite beauty with auburn hair and a will of iron. She was abandoned and robbed by the father of her child and relies only on herself. She is very organized and efficient, the perfect assistant to the Director of Breed Affairs.

Jonas Wyatt is the Director of Breed Affairs and a Lion Breed, the son of the original Leo and his mate, though he was born and raised in the infamous labs. He is manipulative and ruthless and is known as the bogeyman of the Breeds.

Jonas Wyatt never intended to find his mate. Being his mate is too dangerous a proposition for any woman. Then the Prima hired her old friend, Rachel, as his assistant, and he knew he had lost the struggle, but he would not subject her to the mating heat. Outside forces have different ideas however. There are those who want to market what keeps mated Breeds from aging, and Rachel and her daughter are their targets.

I have been waiting a long time to read Jonas’ story. He has been the master puppeteer of the Breeds under his control and it is fun to read about his comeupppance at the hands of Rachel. This book also gives the reader a bit more insight into the three Lion Breed brothers and their parents. The scene between Leo Vanderale and Rachel is not to be missed. Jonas becomes much more of a person in this book, much less cold than he was before. Rachel is a great character also, and one of the strongest in a group of very tough heroines. I look forward to reading more about her daughter, Amber. The plot is very exciting, and the love scenes are just as hot as Ms. Leigh can write them, and as her fans know that is scorching. There are quite a few loose ends that I hope will be resolved in future stories, because I am not ready for this series to end anytime soon.
