The sponsors are ready to pull the plug on stock car racer Brody Palmer if he does not clean up his image. He feels like a five year old in a time out, and hates that it will be a year of lying to everyone about “retiring”.

BORING should be Hannah Morgan’s middle name, in her mind anyway. Quitting her accounting job and hitting the road as a photojournalist is supposed to be the start of a great adventure, not just another string of disappointments.

Only a few months into his fake retirement and Brody already feels like climbing the walls. Racing is everything to him; nothing else has ever come close, until Hannah walks back into his life. Their plan to fool everyone into thinking they are a couple will benefit them both. Hannah wants excitement and spontaneity, Brody needs a stable relationship to pull his image out of the gutter. Neither is prepared for what will happen when it is time to say good-bye.

In my book, and apparently Brody’s as well, Hannah is anything but boring. It takes guts, and maybe a little craziness to do what she does with Brody, but it is definitely sexy and exciting. With Brody, what you see is what you get, and boy do you get a lot! He is a full-steam-ahead-and-think-of-the-consequences-later kind of guy, which makes his pact with Hannah all the more explosive.
