A multiracial child abandoned by her birth parents and adopted by wealthy parents, Montana has always been different. She can occasionally see into the future. Haunted by dreams of the centaur that saved her from drowning when she was a child, she is torn between her career in the forestry service and the ranch left to her by her beloved adoptive parents.

Seth has always been fascinated by humans, but only been close to them one time. He is obsessed with the image of the little girl he saved so many years ago. He constantly ventures into her world; one of these trips causes the death of his best friend and his later exile straight into Montana’s path.

An exiled centaur in human form and a lonely woman find each other again. Each has the power to save the other from the danger threatening themselves and their loved ones. The Dark Elf is intent on gaining what he wants and will stop at nothing.

I really enjoyed this story about a centaur and the human he loves. Montana is a wonderful character and Seth, though very arrogant at first, is equally likable. The supporting characters in both realms are very well written and the author’s description of the setting is vivid. The Dark Elf is wonderfully evil, with a sympathetic side so you do not totally hate him, and the Light Elf is not totally good. Any reader who likes paranormals with elves and centaurs will like this one.
