Troy is a wolf, a ‘skin walker’ to the Indians -- one of the secrets he must keep or risk his life in late 1800’s Oklahoma Territory.

Chris is only twenty-one, but he has been alone for a long time. Barely escaping an attack with his life, he runs to the only man he has ever met who might keep him safe, and if he is lucky, love him for a while.

Cooper is a US deputy Marshal, and a black one at that, something that does not go down to well with the locals.

When Chris upsets one of the locals in Troy’s bar, both Troy and Cooper come to his rescue, starting a relationship that could get them all killed. When Chris is then kidnapped by an unknown criminal, Cooper and Troy have to work together again to save him.

I have found this book difficult to follow in places, the bad guy’s hate for our heroes changes from one hearing to the next. The time line for the building of this hate ranges from two years to a few days for the same believed crime. The three heroes are different in every way, but together they make each other stronger, working together to find a way to keep each other safe.
