Monique has a dilemma. She has been working hard to gain the confidence and love of the Comte. This is essential in her plot to avenge the death of her little sister a century before. The Comte’s charity clinics refused to help the sick little girl, leading to her death, and Monique becoming a vampire. Unfortunately, she has fallen in love with the Comte, but still must fulfill her vow to her sister.

The Comte has never met anyone like Monique before, and has fallen in love with her. He cannot understand how, or why, she would betray him by stealing control of all of his business and financial interests. He knows that she is in love with him and is determined to save his business and regain his love.

When the Comte is victimized by his current love Monique, he calls on four American friends to help him regain control of his business and his love life.

The title of this book is a bit misleading, making the reader think of a story that is mostly fluff and comedy. In fact, it is a very good vampire romance, full of conflict and past tragedy. Monique is obsessed with avenging her sister and fails to look past this to see that her beloved Comte really was not responsible. The dark and sexy Comte is completely confused by her venom, but cannot see past his life of luxury to find out who Monique really is. The four vampires from America are great characters who help him find the truth. The author paints a wonderful picture of France and the love scenes are very, very hot! I will definitely read the previous novel for more details.
