Hello everyone! We have with us today author Karen Erickson and she will be telling us about her book, Halloween Heart-throbs: Witchy Woman. Hi Karen and welcome to Coffee Time Romance. We are so happy to have you here with us today to talk about your book, Halloween Heart-throb: Witchy Woman.
Could you tell us a little about yourself and when you began writing?
Hi and thanks for having me! Well, I’ve been writing off and on for years but I finally decided to try my hand at writing for publication in 2005. I sold my first erotic romance novella to Cobblestone Press in June of ’06 and I’ve been chugging along ever since!
The story was a very entertaining read. I love the characters. Did you have inspiration for them or were they just voices in your head demanding to have their story written?
Well I love fall and Halloween so I wanted to write something that involved a witch. Then I realized it would be fun to pair my witch with a vampire. It kind of just took off from there.
You put a twist on how we see witches and vampires that I thought was interesting. Where did you get the idea for this story?
Hmm my overactive imagination? LOL I write by the seat of my pants, I don’t plot so much (well I’ve been doing so lately but not with this book) and I just kind of let my characters lead me. I hope people like the story, I had a lot of fun writing it.
Tessa seems a bit stubborn but she is a fun character, her sister is as well, will we see a story for Mariah in the future?
Funny you should mention that because I was thinking it would be fun to give Mariah a chance at a story, to find her perfect match. Her part is small in Witchy Woman but she packs a punch. I think I could have a good time writing her story.
Devon is a very patient vampire, was it easy for you to write his character?
Absolutely! He is so sure of what is supposed to be that he doesn’t seem to flinch much when Tessa flips him attitude. He’s confident that she’s the woman for him, and confident in his abilities in convincing her of that. Kind of sexy, that Devon. Hee hee.
Do you have any other releases coming soon that you would like to tell us about?
Yes! I have my first ménage book, Breaking Free, coming out on November 25th at Amber Quill Press – Amber Heat, and a Christmas book, Santa Baby, coming out December 24th at Cobblestone Press.
Also, my first book with Ellora’s Cave is coming out in January! It’s called Virgin Jewels and I’m very excited about that one as well.

Do you have any appearances or chats you would like to tell us about that are coming up in the near future?
No, nothing going on that I have planned. Yet. I might be chatting it up in December since my Christmas book will be coming out (and I have a special Christmas gift for readers out there – a free read that accompanies my book Santa Baby) but I don’t have anything scheduled.
With the Thanksgiving holiday upon us, what are you most thankful for?
My family first and foremost. My wonderful husband and three kids mean the world to me.
If you were told you could walk into a library and choose only one book, what would it be and why?
What a tough question! Well, I guess I would have to say hmmm…The Stand by Stephen King. I haven’t read it in a long time but every time I do read it, I love it. It makes me laugh, it makes me cry, I feel like I know all of those people. My all time favorite Stephen King book without a doubt.
Thank you for taking the time to share with us today. We appreciate you being here to chat with us. Please feel free to drop by anytime.
I appreciate you having me at Coffee Time Romance! I think you all are fabulous!
